The Project: Supply and fit of new Origin window frames in Cheam
Our customers were looking for new replacement window frames for their home in Cheam.
They had aluminium frames and were looking for a product that allowed maximum light into their home. Here at Unique Windows, we are Origin Premium Partners, and we supply and fit a complete range of Origin windows and doors.
We are a family-run windows and doors business with over 35 years in the glazing trade. Our experienced and friendly team offers the supply and installation of a complete range of glazing from leading manufacturers, including Origin, ALUK and Rehau. We provided a no-obligation window survey and quotation with no hidden costs. We take great pride in our reputation for offering a highly professional and honest service, with no pressure to proceed.
After some discussion, our customers opted for new window frames from the Origin 070 range. This system boasts impressive sightlines to allow plenty of natural light in and create bright and warm properties, as well as offering fantastic views of the outdoors.
These windows are also built with security in mind and feature multipoint locks with secure keeps, so they achieve the latest PAS-24 security standards. The 070 range also boasts excellent energy efficiency ratings. With low U Values, they exceed British Regulations.
All origin products are available in over 150 RAL colours, including dual colour options with different colours on the inside and outside. Our customer opted for classic white, another option that can make a space appear bigger and brighter and create the illusion of more space.
The Results
Our experienced window installers removed the old aluminium window frames that were inserted into timber subframes.
We also removed all the leaded glass. We installed the brand new window system in white.
Any challenges?
Following the new regulations that came into play in June, all new windows and doors must now have trickle vents.
These are a component within the window or door that provides permanent ventilation, even if the window or door is shut. As the original frame did not have this, we had to make sure the vents would not end up behind the plaster line.
Therefore, we added a frame extension to the heads of all the windows. This gave us the tolerance to ensure the cleared the plaster line and could operate fully.
